ABSTRACT: Investigating the effects of early childhood education on resilience to natural disasters is crucial for fostering a culture of safety and preparedness. This study aimed to evaluate how early childhood education programs influence children's resilience to natural disasters. The objectives were to (1) assess children's understanding of disaster preparedness, (2) evaluate the role of preparedness activities in the curriculum, and (3) examine changes in children's behavior during simulated disaster scenarios. A survey design was chosen to systematically collect data from participants, providing a comprehensive understanding of the topic. A purposive sample of 100 children aged 4-6 years, engaged in disaster preparedness education programs, was selected to ensure relevant experiences. The case study focused on an early childhood education center in Rivers State, known for its disaster preparedness initiatives. Findings revealed significant improvements in children's understanding of disaster preparedness, the effectiveness of preparedness activities, and positive changes in behavior during simulated disaster scenarios. The study recommended integrating disaster preparedness education into early childhood curricula and providing training for educators to effectively deliver these programs.
